Starlight

My children are my trophies
Whose glory and sheer presence
I like to bask in
In their borrowed light
I glow
and mellow.

Both of them – a piece of me
Many cells of mine they have
Both of them but a part of our universe
Little starlets with their own orbits and trajectories
In which they roam.

In this satellite nature of mine
I wish to bestow upon them
A world of goodness and happiness
A confidence to become themselves
Come into their own
Roam the earth below and skies above
And shine their light, their glow
On paths not tread, on lives unlived
Fairy-dust stones to shiny precious gems
Transform darkness with their light
And in their empty moments
Become one with the unknown
Look within for answers
For solace and peace
And ride the spaceship of life
Despite the struggle and strife
With equanimity, faith and endurance
Sparks that fly off comets
Leave a trail of wonder and excitement
A sense of satisfaction, of content.
Glorious suns of this mother
May you always be the source
Of warmth, happiness and light.
